Seymour Helping Hands and Seymour Community Theatre worked together to bring a new and exciting event to Seymour over the weekend.
Over 124 Seymourians attended in their best flapper era finery! In all, over $1800 was raised for the two groups via this event, but more importantly fun was had by all!
Just Shoot Me Photography was on hand to collect mugshots and supply evidence to the coppers if needed.
A meal of meaty marinara spaghetti and a delicious Alfredo sauce, accompanied by a salad and garlic toast. The meal was cooked by Kimberly Hill and Dylan Riley. Dessert of beautifully created cookies was prepared and donated by Jennifer Odom of Gigi's Sweet Treats.
During the meal candy girls- Christina Riley and Kat Stevenson sold candy and roses to those in attendance to sooth any sweet teeth and those sweet on each other. While Harry Knowles MC'd the event throughout the night with help from his hostesses: Patricia Knowles, Kimberly Brasher, and Kimberly Stevenson
After the meal was completed the guests set about solving the murder of "Chuckles" the hitman played by Clint Beck. Turns out after making the wrong kind of passes at Roxie she ended him with cyanide- to the shock of many!
However, the mystery being solved did not end there. There were prizes to be won through raffle, a costume contest, and a silent auction of donated items. The costume contest was a packed event and the audience chose the winner through applause. Joy Self brought the house down with a roar from the crowd to win 1st place.
The show wrapped at 10 and a crowd of mobsters and their gals returned home full of laughter and smiles form the night.
