There is no way to say thank you to all the wonderful people who have supported us over the years, especially the last 12 months. We want you to know though that we truly appreciate all of the volunteers and the community for helping us reach this milestone.
As of May 1st, 2023, SHH successfully acquired a building located at 100 S Washington to allow for a physical location of the Community Center.
Completed areas:
A new roof was installed to ensure that the building was sound.

Meeting Area
ADA compliant bathroom, with pending shower area.

Junior V activities | Junior Volunteers help with all projects as well as volunteer during fundraisers. | Youth participated in the Pumpkin Project to ensure safe trick or treating. |
SISD | Recognize the SISD staff of the month during the school year. | Monthly during the school year SISD staff are recognized with a free meal from Chicken Express |
Let’s Eat Program | We use our small food pantry to help community members that may need a little extra food immediately. We also have a once a month bread program that has given out over 900 loaves of bread free since March 1, 2024. | Bread Project- over 2000 loaves of bread were given out. We also were able to supply multiple families with fresh vegetables and eggs supplied by local gardeners and farmers. Additionally we have supplied multiple individuals and families with items from the community pantry such as boxes of canned goods and staples, including formula. |
Resource Center | Space in the Center has been provided so that those needing assistance with GED, drug rehab, job placement, etc can receive information on resources that are available to them. | During 2024 we have worked with Region 9 to educate on GED resources, we have assisted people looking for rehab to receive a ride to a facility, we have worked with TWC to ensure that people are aware of jobs in our local area. |
Senior Socials | Outings designed to take Senior Citizens out to theatre shows or other social gatherings. | Two outings to the Seymour Community Theatre in which we picked Seniors up at their home and took them to see a free Play and received a free popcorn and drink. |
Smoke Detector Program | Partner with the American Red cross to install Smoke Detectors in homes | 43 families have received smoke 66 smoke detectors |
