October is a time for spooky fun and SHH supplied a ton of it with a fun filled painting day on Saturday, October 19th. Several members of the community enjoyed painting pumpkins supplied by SHH.
From Jack Skeleton pumpkins to Sponge Bob to Frankenstein the ghouls were out.
The spookiness doesn't stop with painting. Seymour Helping Hands will be hosting The Pumpkin Project again this year. Prior to Halloween volunteers will reach out to those at the Senior Citizen housing and place pumpkin pictures on those doors wanting to participate, they will even help supply candy if it is needed. On Halloween kids will gather at the Meals on Wheels building and then they will go as a group to parade through the Senior area and only go to those homes that have the pumpkin on the door. This program ensures that Senior members of the community are able to enjoy the youth trick or treating if they want and those that would rather not be disturbed will not have to worry about the little gremlins at their door.
