Seymour Helping Hands Community Center celebrated it's Grand Opening On Saturday, May 3rd. The Seymour Chamber of Commerce attended the event along with several volunteers and community members. A formal ribbon cutting was held and guests were treated to a delicious assortment of treats.
SHH hopes to continue serving the community of Seymour and surrounding areas as they move forward. Upcoming events include:
6/1/24 KFDX/FOX Spring Fling Car Show (rescheduled due to weather)
June will bring a month long Pokemon tournament
July will have the Abilene Zoo bringing some of their wildlife friends to visit and a Motorcycle Toy Run.
Currently the Center operates through Volunteer man power and is open Saturdays 10-2p. There is informational resources to help those that may need assistance as well as a small food pantry and their "Little Bag" program that assists those that may need diapers, wipes, or hygiene items.
SHH is working with Region 9 to bring GED classes in the fall as well as other extended education resources.
