Seymour Helping Hands is proud to be supported and partnering with other groups to help bring needed items to our community. A special thank you to Christian Action Services for helping us receive bread for others.
In March we gave away over 600 loaves of bread to families within our community. This project will continue into April and beyond but with a change in dates. Instead of every weekend it will be the 1st and 3rd weekend of each month.
Starting April 6th we will have free eggs as well thanks to some local hometown farmers who are willing to donate them. Our hope is that someone will add veggies from their garden as the year progresses.
Just remember these are fresh out of the South side of a North bound chicken, not from a store so you need to treat these a bit different.
Rules for eggs:
Always water test for freshness.
Wash off eggs before cooking, they have not been cleaned to help them remain fresh longer.
Remember these are not store bought so always pre-crack in a cup to avoid a mess.
As always these programs are open to everyone. We do ask the name of the head of house and how many people in home so that we can track how many people we help for our reporting records.
