SEYMOUR HELPING HANDS 2024

About Us

Each year we like to ensure that everyone knows who our Board is. With some changes in 2023-2024 we hope that you will take the time to get to know us.

Kimberly Stevenson (Board Member, President,  and Founder Dec-2020) was born and raised in Seymour, and has been doing volunteer work for the past 30+years with several groups including the North Texas Children’s Aid Society, Boy Scouts of America, Seymour Pink Ladies, and the American Red Cross. In 2021 she decided to turn her focus locally to help bring something special to those around her. In 2023 she won Nexstar Remarkable Woman of the Year for the Wichita Falls area.

Christina Riley (Board Member 2021) was born and raised in Seymour Texas. She has been doing volunteer work since the age of fourteen years old and was excited to get to help with Seymour Helping Hands. She is also Lead on Junior Volunteers. You can find Christina on the board for SHH, usually out assisting with most projects.

Dylan Riley (Board Member 2021) is originally from Irons, Michigan. He has lived in Seymour for four years and wanted to give back to the community. He began volunteering with Seymour Helping Hands before its official founding.

Rick (Board Member 2021) and Kimberly Hill (Board Member, Vice President 2021) are very active in all areas within Seymour Helping Hands. Rick worked with the Seymour PD for 15 years and now works for the Allred Unit in Wichita Falls. His wife Kimberly came here 13 years ago from Germany and is known to most as the “Lunch Lady”. She started volunteering with Rick so that she could help work toward the Youth Center and other projects to give back to the wonderful kids she sees each day as a member of SISD.

Taylor “Tia” Sturgis (Board Member, Treasurer 2023) has lived in Seymour for 17 years. She is a small business woman, served as a SHH volunteer for a year prior to becoming a board member, and raises a family.

Rebecca Dickson (Board Member 2022) moved to Seymour in January, 2017. She is the mother of three and owns and operates The Vintage Gypsy Emporium.  Her husband is a farmer and the two own several rental properties in Baylor County. During the wheat harvest season you can find her at her desk as the Office Manager for Bomarton Coop. She loves to stay busy.

Russell Smalts (Board Member 2021) is a Veteran of both the US Air Force and US Army. While originally from Oklahoma he has called Seymour his home since 2008 and has been volunteering in different capacities since he was young. Most people know him from his time working as the Manager at Allsups, but in his retirement Russ has chosen to step up and continue to support his community by volunteering with SHH.

Donna Coody (Board Member 2021) grew up in Seymour, and graduated from SHS in 1988. She has a history of volunteerism with animal rescue organizations, and children’s organizations.  Even though Donna no longer resides in Seymour she was excited to join Seymour Helping Hands and has been instrumental since the early days with helping to organize the group and plan events. Her favorite event that she never misses is the Spring Fling.

Dr. John Rose (Board Member 2023) In 2004 Dr Rose and his family moved to Seymour. While attending college in Oklahoma he was a member of Alpha Phi Omega and their main goal as a fraternity was to serve others.  His love of service to others was shown in his six years as a Scoutmaster in Seymour. Himself being an Eagle Scout he wanted to share that love of scouting with others.
