April has been a chance for us to share with other organizations. Thanks to community donations and product donations from Life's Hope of Duncan, Oklahoma we were able to share not only with our community but other non-profits to help them in their mission to help others.
Life's Hope receives items from companies such as Target and nonprofits like Feed the Children and Convey of Hope and then distributes them to schools, churches, and other non-profits. Based out of Duncan, Oklahoma and ran by Brent Justice with his wonderful volunteers it is a great group of people helping others.
Dolly Hawkins with Christian Action Services donated items to our group and we in turn were able to share from the Bread Project and other items to her group. Dolly was the original founder of The Bread Project for us and we are blessed that we can now return the favor. Her group helps in Chillicothe, Quanah, and the surrounding areas. They focus on all ages, but last year did work to make stockings and fill them for over 300 youth in local schools during the holiday season.
Chris DeLaGarza is with Base Camp Lindsey. Their mission is that no Veteran should ever go homeless. They work to help Veteran's and other achieve a home of their own and supply them with the basic needs.
SHH also delivered suitcases to the West Texas Children's Aid Society to help children that are in foster care have a suitcase of their own and medical supplies to Pay It Forward of Wichita Falls. We believe no child should have to add carrying their belongings in a trash bag to the list of worries they have while in foster care. The medical supplies such as walkers and portable potties helps those without insurance and in need.
All of this could not be done without our wonderful volunteers and we thank them for all they do with us every day.
