Seymour Helping Hands has been busy this year reaching out to families right here in our community. From January through August, we’ve been blessed to serve 583 families through a variety of projects that focus on meeting everyday needs with care and compassion.
The New2U Project
Our New2U Project has helped 110 families find gently used clothing and household items, giving new life to donated goods while easing financial stress for neighbors in need. This project continues to be a wonderful way to recycle, reuse, and share kindness.
Food Support Programs
Fighting food insecurity remains one of our top priorities. Through our Let’s Eat Program, 321 families received fresh bread, veggies, meats, and eggs. The Pallet Program brought food and household items to 104 families, and another 29 families received food boxes, not including the many who have used our outdoor pantry. Each effort helps put food on the table and hope in the heart.
Parent and Community Pantries
We know that caring for little ones can be tough, so our Parent Pantry has provided diapers, wipes, formula, and other essentials to 9 families this year. In addition, our Community Pantry, focused on medical and hygiene items, has served 10 families. These small acts of support can make a big difference in a household.
Looking Ahead: Volunteers Needed
As we plan upcoming projects, we’re in need of volunteers to help us continue this important work. Whether it’s stocking shelves, helping at events, or assisting with deliveries, every set of helping hands makes our mission stronger. If you have a heart for service, we’d love to have you join us.
Thank You, Seymour!
None of this would be possible without the generosity and support of our community. To everyone who has donated, volunteered, prayed for us, or simply shared a kind word of encouragement—thank you. Together, we are proving that Seymour is a town that takes care of its own.
