Saturday Fun- Senior Social!

Saturday, June 15th was a fun time for all involved. Seymour Helping Hands partnered with Seymour Community Theater to provide an entertaining evening for those that may not always have a way to attend events.

The Seymour Community Theater presented Steele Magnolias at the Seymour Cinema at City Hall. SHH with the help of Sharplines picked up local seniors at their homes and at the Seymour Rehabilitation Home and they rode as a group to the theatre.

Each participant received a ticket to the show, a drink, and their choice of a popcorn or candy during the event. SHH Volunteers were on hand to help escort participants to the event, into the venue, and at the end back home.

The Seymour Community Theatre troupe did an amazing job of transporting the audience back to the 1980's Louisiana Beauty Shop and the lives of the ladies who attend that shop. From a wedding to a birth to a death each scene played out perfectly and enthralled the audience.

After the presentation the ladies and gentlemen who attended the Senior Social received a ride home from Sharplines.

SHH is looking forward to holding more Senior Social events as the year progresses.
