Donations Accepted Guidelines

Updated: Aug 21

Seymour Helping Hands is continuing to grow and learn how to better assist our community. We are refocusing our efforts moving forward toward Social Services and how we can assist those in need in the best manner.

You, our Community, have been amazing in your response to assist us in donations to help fill our pantry area and in support of our New2U Project.

Due to our limited storage and building size we have had to make some tough choices on items we can accept moving forward. We want to adjust our New2U program to focus on needs and so we ask that those donating please consider this when bringing items for us to pass on.

2024 DO NOT TAKE LIST/Unaccepted Items

  • Bed Pillows, Couch throw pillows

  • Workout Machinery

  • Baby Cribs without hardware

  • Copiers/Printers, Computer Monitors

  • Guns. Ammo

  • Broken or soiled items

  • Paint

  • Hazardous Materials, Auto Parts, Tires

  • Car Seats **

  • Recalled items

  • Non-working Items

  • Wall decor, general decorations

If you have large furniture items, while we do not have room to store these at this time we can post for you if free and help to connect you with others who need these items.

Our goal is to supply needed household items such as kitchen (dishes, appliances, utensils), bedroom/bathroom basics (sheets, blankets, towels), and baby and child basics.

Please take clothing to Calvary Baptist Church located at 500 E Miller St. They have a drop box in the back by the door. General household decor and wall art can be donated along with many non-essential items to SOHO to allow them to continue to assist our community. SOHO is located at 215 N Washington. Both of these groups are here to assist the community and we hope to work with you to support them as well.

**We do know of a program that helps to support those in need with a car seat. Please ask if you need one.

DONATIONS can still be dropped off at the Center on Saturdays between 9am and 11am. This is the preferred method of drop off. We will continue to have a small drop off box, but it will be moved to the North side of the building.

We thank you for your understanding and your help in this time of transition, growth, and learning.

Watch for upcoming exciting announcements on GED and more....
